Resources for Rescuers

This is information we need to have in order to determine the proper placement for your animal.

Please copy the information below and paste it into an email to info@manosporpatas.org and provide the responses to the questions. Attach a good .jpg or .tif photo of the dog so we can see it's basic appearance and size.

Please answer honestly to all the questions. Remember, an answer you may think is negative, doesn't necessarily mean we won't be able to take the dog. We just have to find the proper foster home or shelter for him/her.

Was the dog heartworm tested? When was the test performed? (must be SNAP test) What was the result? Has the dog been on heartworm preventative since this time?

Is the dog spayed/neutered? On what date?

Has the dog ever had parvovirus, erlichia, anaplasmosis, distemper, or demodectic mange?

Was the dog given a fecal exam? On what date? What were the results? If the dog tested postive for any intestinal parasites, was it given treatment?

How was the dog found/rescued?

Is the dog good with other dogs? Cats? People? Children?

Is the dog housetrained? Crate trained?

Have you done any aggressiveness testing with the dog?

Has the dog ever bitten, growled at, or bared teeth to anyone that you know of?

How long has the dog been in your care?

How is the dog housed while in your care? (inside, outside, kennel, etc..)

Describe the dog's personality. (shy, playful, cuddly, etc..)

Do you know of any bad habits the dog has? (excessive barking, digging, fence jumping, etc..)

What commands does the dog know? What is the command for potty? Please let us know exactly what words the dog knows or has been exposed to for all things ("down", "potty", "outside", ....)

Include a good quality photo of the dog (in .jpg or .tif format)

Have you ever sent dogs on an airline before?

Do you have your own kennels to use? Do you need them returned to you?

Are you willing to drive your dog to the airport?

Are you willing to drive other's dogs to the airport?

Are you willing to pitch in about $10 to pay for gas for the driver in Florida?
